Growth Mindset Challenge

The students were given 20 pieces of spaghetti, a piece of string, a metre of tape and a marshmallow. They had to build a structure that stood on its own and had the marshmallow at the top. The students agreed that it was difficult to do because the spaghetti kept breaking. They felt frustrated because every time they had something that they thought was going to stand, it fell over. Kolt said it would be better if they had metal instead of spaghetti because it would be stronger. The students realized that sometimes things are hard and you have to keep trying. They learned that things aren't always easy but you have to keep trying. If things don't work out the first time, they realized that they could come up with a new plan and try again. The greatest thing to see was that everyone tried and nobody gave up.
