The question posed this morning was can you make the number 5? Can you make it a different way? The students showed many different interpretations of that number. 

Growth Mindset Challenge - The Cup Challenge

This morning with the help of some senior leaders, we began to learn the steps for the cup challenge. There are many steps to learn this challenge. We have not mastered it YET but we are working on it. Although sometimes it is frustrating to remember all of the steps, we keep trying. The students all know that we never give up and we don't sayI Can't. We let them know that it's ok to ask for help and that we learn from our mistakes. The whole school is doing this and we are anxious to see what it looks like in a month.

Creative Colours

I am making new colours. I colour a circle, then I add a drop of glue. When I'm done that, I take the Popsicle stick and mix it up. This is making new colours.

Scholastic Orders

Scholastic book orders are due next Friday October 9, 2015. Once I receive all the orders, I will submit them. As soon as the orders arrive, I will send them home.

Reading

So during play today these three girls were observed reading to the baby in the highchair. The stories were ones that we had read in the class earlier in the week. Lilly was telling her student about the story Hands are not for Hitting that we had read. She explained all of the nice things that we do with our hands.

The colour books are a big hit. The students were so proud of themselves today as they were reading all of the ones that have been done so far. After a new colour is introduced, the students have been creating colour pages to display in the classroom.
